Sometimes the hotels have discounted rates-try the Swiss Hotel.
If you would like access to the Academy conference hotel rates, you must register with the Academy (in addition to your AVSL registration).
O’Hare and Midway
ICO is closer to Midway than to O’Hare. That said, the blue line to O’Hare (near the Palmer House) takes exactly 45 min. and costs $2.25.

The Ventra pass, can be used on the “L,” trains, busses and the CTA. 1 day, 3 day and weekly passes are offered.

The bus is perfectly safe and is located across the street from ICO.

The AVSL Annual Meeting occurs each fall, for 3-4 days, and is usually timed alongside the annual American Academy of Optometry meeting and may require registration with Academy. This AVSL meeting includes, continuing education, presentations, board/member meetings, planning updates, tours and events, and the traditional dinner out.
All members of AVSL are welcome to attend. Contact a member of the AVSL Leadership Team if you have questions.
